About

Started in September 2010 “Beating the Buzzer” is a sports blog created by Dustin Pollack, a journalism student from Toronto. Updated weekly BTB tries to cover things that the mainstream media isn’t, but we’d be lying if we said we only write what the media doesn’t. We still cover what’s trending so yes NBA writer Alex Bogach will still provide insight on the big stories like the Chris Paul “almost” trade, and Toronto Maple Leafs/NHL writer Adam Halberstadt will give updates on the hometown Leafs and other news around the NHL. But we want to give our readers something new while still providing them with stories they want to read. If it’s a topic that’s already been covered we want to look at it from a different angle. Yes we know the hockey world is shaken up by Sidney Crosby’s concussion, but what else can we say beyond that? We’re not hear to regurgitate what people have already digested, we’re here to feed them something new. We’re sports fans just like everyone else, we just happen to like putting our thoughts down on paper too.

Enjoy.
